Event Information
The Bridgeton Recreation Department will be hosting
its first annual Festival of Lights on December 1, 2007. The
Festival will have a variety of Donor-Decorated Trees, a
Candlelight Concert, and a
Tree of Reflection. The intention
of the event is to build a sense of community around the holiday
season, in a very festive way. Held in conjunction with the
Bridgeton House Tour, the event will be located at Sunset Lake on
December 1, 2007, opening to the public at 4pm and closing
around 8pm. Admission is free.
Donor-Decorated Trees
We are recruiting local clubs, organizations, businesses,
or individuals to decorate a 3ft, 4ft, or 6ft tree for the
festival. The tree and lights will be provided for all donors.
The donor would only be responsible for the decorations. The
decorated trees will be displayed throughout the picnic area at
Sunset Lake, as well as being silent auctioned off at the end of the
evening. Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the Bridgeton
High School Stadium. Please note that donor-decorated tree deadlines

Candlelight Concert
The concert will include local singers
performing holiday inspired music, all by candlelight. If you know
of a group, please have them contact the Recreation Department as
soon as possible as there are a limited amount of performance
spaces.
Tree of Reflection
This tree will be decorated with angels and bows
signifying a remembered loved one. The Tree of Reflection is a great way to keep
servicemen and women, departed loved ones, and those with ill health
in our thoughts throughout this time of year. For a minimal amount,
your loved one can be remembered on the tree during this holiday
season. The cost includes the ornament and name of the remembered
loved one. Please note that
Tree of Reflection ornaments
must be ordered (and be paid for) by November 16, 2007.
