The Bridgeton Fire Department (BFD) consists of both paid and volunteer firefighters.  With a well-trained, professional staff, Bridgeton's Fire Department boasts one of the most highly rated departments in south Jersey.  Thanks to the leadership of our Chief, the department continues to grow and increase its effectiveness.

The department consists of 20 career firefighters, 23 volunteer firefighters and two civilian employees, which operates out of one station that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  In 2006, the Bridgeton Fire Department responded to 846 calls for service.  The department operates three fire engines and two ladder trucks.  In addition, the Fire Prevention Bureau within the fire department serves as the local enforcing agency of the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.

All Bridgeton fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are being provided by the BFD. Currently there are 34 EMS Technicians (EMTs) in the EMS Division, and 17 Career Firefighters that are certified as EMTs.

All EMS operations that were previously managed from the location at 5 Scholastic Drive are now being conducted from the Bridgeton fire house.

Please visit the Bridgeton Fire Department's website for more information about the department, its history, and fire prevention and code enforcement.
