Bridgeton's Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction, which extends only to the city's boundaries.  It is responsible for:

• Motor vehicle and traffic violations

• Quasi-criminal offenses (i.e. disorderly and petty disorderly persons offenses)

• Municipal ordinance violations

• Certain penalty enforcement actions, including fish and game violations

• Specified criminal offenses where indictment and trial by jury are waived by the defendant

• Enforcement of miscellaneous regulatory violations

• Conducting probable cause hearings for indictable offenses
