Public Works - Public Buildings Division

 

The Division of Public Buildings performs a wide range of activities including maintenance of, alterations & additions to, the following city-owned buildings:

  • City Hall

  • City Hall Annex

  • Public Works Office

  • Streets and Roads Complex

  • Nail Mill Museum

  • Storage Building (Newell's Lane)

  • Warehouse Building (Atlantic Street)

  • Ireland's Mill

  • Tourist Information Center

  • Canoe House

Our general & maintenance activities include:

  • Correcting build safety issues

  • Managing the city telephone system

  • Maintaining City Hall and Annex personnel in a comfortable working atmosphere

  • Electrical, plumbing, heating and general repairs (e.g. replacing light bulbs & flagpole flags)

  • Periodic general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and hallways

  • Janitorial services

  • Building upgrades required to meet new codes and regulations

  • Oversee building related maintenance & service contracts

  • Prepare and maintain budget for building related expenditures (utilities, security, repairs, improvements, etc.)
