Connect & Serve: Bridgeton
In many ways, volunteers are the heartbeat of every community and especially so here in Bridgeton. You see them in every neighborhood; coaching youth, mentoring teens; in churches, along roadways picking up litter, helping to clean along the riverbank, or serving the homeless in the Code Blue program to name a few examples.
Our volunteers are our real heroes and we would be less of a community without them. But for every one actively serving as a volunteer, there are just as many who would like to serve, but they don't know where to start or who to reach out to about volunteer opportunities.
One place to start is Volunteer Center of South Jersey (VCSJ), the premier point of contact for volunteerism in our region. Within the greater Bridgeton, organizational partners include Bethany Grace Church and Gateway Community Action Partnership with more on the way.
Whether you're an individual looking to volunteer somewhere or an organization with available volunteer opportunities, the Volunteer Center of South Jersey is our region's best way to make the connection that's right for you.
Volunteering not only brings personal satisfaction, volunteering can also be a pathway to employment as volunteers meet new people, learn new skills, and discover new possibilities through their service.
By connecting with the Volunteer Center of South Jersey, you'll find opportunities that work best for you. You'll also find support, training, and a network of like-minded people doing what they can to make their communities a better place.
