Mayor and City Council Honorable Mayor Albert B Kelly Council President James Edwards Jack Surrency Gladys Lugardo-Hemple William D. Spence Michael D. Zapolski, Sr. Jack Surrency Councilman Jack Surrency was first elected to the Bridgeton City Council in 2010 as part of a slate headed by Mayor Albert Kelly that year. Mr. Surrency was re-elected as part of the Kelly slate for a second four-year term on City Council in November of 2014. Prior to his election as a member of City Council, he served on the Bridgeton Board of Education from 2002-2010, serving as board president from 2006-2008. He currently serves on the Boards of United Way of Greater Cumberland County, Complete Care Health Care Inc, Cumberland County RSVP and the Cumberland County YSAC Advisory Board. Councilman Surrency is a graduate of Bridgeton High School, class of 73'. He went on to attend Cumberland County College and then the Tuskegee Institute from 1976-1978, majoring in chemistry with a business minor. Councilman Surrency also holds a master's degree in Community and Economic Development from New Hampshire College in Manchester. Over the years, he has held posts at Hunt Wesson Foods, Atlantic Richfield Company of PA, and Mobil's research and development division in Paulsboro NJ. In addition to his professional portfolio; Councilman Surrency has served on the board of Tri-County Community Action Agency, Big Brother-Big Sisters, and Salem County College EOF Board. Councilman Jack is the proud husband of Sharon Surrency and father of Eric (31) and Michael (23); as well as grandfather of Xeneja (12). He is employed by the County of Cumberland.
