Marian D. King

Councilwoman Marian King is a lifelong resident of the Bridgeton community. A strong proponent for quality education in Bridgeton, Councilwoman King served on the Bridgeton School Board prior to being selected to replace former Councilman Sam Feinstein.

Councilwoman King has an Associate’s Degree in Information Systems from Cumberland County College as well as Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University. Councilwoman King continued her graduate studies ultimately obtaining a Master’s Degree in Information Assurance (Cybersecurity) from Wilmington University. Currently, Councilwoman King contracts in the field of Governance, Risk and Compliance requiring her to undertake critical analysis and evaluation of complex issues in order to arrive at evidence-based decisions.

Councilwoman King has been and remains an advocate for underserved communities and programs throughout the city. As a former business owner in the Bridgeton community, she continuously looks for innovative ways to bring industry and community together. Presently, Councilwoman King serves as an advisor and treasurer for the Bridgeton Midget Football League- coordinating and managing projects to revitalize this long-standing youth program.

Councilwoman King is an Eastern Star and longtime member of Union Baptist Temple Church. In addition to membership in the exclusive National Coalition of 100 Black Men & Woman of Impact based in Atlanta, Ga., she is a member of Women in Cybersecurity (WiYcS).
